Lead Credit Policy
Getting a Lead Credit
Upon receipt of the lead credit request, our credit team will review your request within 30 days to determine if the lead qualifies for a credit. If it does, a lead credit will be posted to your current invoice for the amount of the lead fee and a confirmation email will be sent. If it does not qualify, you will receive an email with an explanation for the decline. Lead credits are in the form of an account credit and will not be issued as a refund to your credit card under any circumstance. In other words your next lead would be at no charge if it is of the same value. Credit requests are only allowed for qualified leads. Verified leads are not eligible for credits.
Acceptable Reasons for Requesting a Lead Credit for a Real-Time, Qualified Lead
- The lead is not for a real project. The details or needs described in the request are fictitious.
- The lead is for a competitor who is requesting quotes on a product or service they sell.
- The lead does not conform to your Lead Profile as we have it documented on your Dashboard.
- The details of the project are incorrect, causing the project to violate the preferences stated in your Lead Profile (e.g. you only want leads with a budget greater than $5,000; however, after speaking with the buyer, you determine their actual budget is under $1,000).
- The lead is for a Service Region that is not specified in your Lead Profile (e.g. you have asked for leads from California, but the lead is for a project in New York; this does not apply if the contact information is for the New York corporate office, but the actual project will be completed in California).
- The lead request is a duplicate of another request for the same business, person and project sent within the past 60 days. Credits will not be given if the lead is for the same business but a different project or type of service.
Unacceptable Reasons for Requesting a Lead Credit for a Real-Time, Qualified Lead
- Being unable to contact the buyer is not a valid reason for a credit. We speak to every buyer prior to sending the lead so we know they can be reached. Often, a buyer does not return messages after they select a vendor. We also cannot control how aggressive your sales force is. We have a vendor who requested a lot of credits due to no contact, but later found out his sales rep wasn't making the calls; that rep no longer works for him and he is now one of our best clients. Finally, 82% of the time when we receive a credit request due to no contact, we call the buyer back and are able to speak to them on the first or second phone call. They usually tell us they have chosen a vendor already or they are still waiting for quotes. It is very costly to obtain and qualify these leads so we cannot give credits for reasons outside of our control.
- Requesting a credit more than 10 business days after the lead was sent.
- If the buyer says they have received more than 5 quotes, then they have been using other quoting services. QuoteCatcher only sends the lead to a maximum of five Sellers and sometimes fewer.
- The buyer has already selected a vendor by the time you make contact.
- Preferences that are not stated in your Lead Profile (e.g. you do not want leads with a budget under $1,000; however, this is not specified this in your Lead Profile).
- A buyer specifically requests a similar brand, service or technology that you do not offer (e.g. the request is for a Web site to be built with PHP and you only offer ASP, it is your responsibility to explain why your technology is superior to the one the buyer requested).
- When the buyer plans to make a purchase (e.g. the buyer indicates the project will not start for 4 months). We try to ensure the project will start within the next 60 days, but sometimes business needs and direction change and the start date gets pushed out. This is still considered a valid lead and does not qualify for a credit.
- The lead is not retrieved or acted upon in a timely manner. We cannot be held accountable for your system, email outages, spam filters, vacations, sales bandwidth, etc. You can pause your leads if you will be unable to retrieve them.
- If the buyer is approved by QuoteCatcher, and after the request is sent out the buyer decides not to do the project, or will do it "in-house" etc. In other words, it was a valid project but something else affects the buyer's business, or they make a decision which affects the project or how the project is implemented.
Acceptable Reasons for Requesting a Lead Credit for a Lead Purchased from the Lead Board
- The lead is not for a real project. The details or needs described in the request are fictitious.
- The lead is for a competitor who is requesting quotes on a product or service they sell.
- The lead request is a duplicate of another request for the same business, person and project sent within the past 60 days. Credits will not be given if the lead is for the same business but a different project or type of service. This only applies to Qualified leads and does not apply to Verified leads.
- The buyer chose a vendor before you purchased the lead. We will follow up with the buyer to verify the date that they chose a vendor. This only applies to Qualified leads that are less than 30 calendar days old. It does not apply to Verified leads of any age.
- Credits must be requested within 2 business days of purchasing the lead.
